PRECISION RIFLE MARKSMANSHIP MATCH
(For Rifles with Scopes)
0800 – Sign in and target preparation.
0845 – Target assignments.
0900 – First round down range.
Rifle classes:
Except where noted, in the semi auto and bolt rifle classes slings, bipods, rucks, sandbags and other field suitable mobile front rests are permitted. No benchrest style front rests. No rear rests.
The same rifle must be used throughout the match.
All shots at 200 yards except for Match 5.
Preparation and Sighter Period
Eight minutes for preparation and unlimited sighters. There will be no additional set preparation periods. After targets have been scored and changed competitors will be given a reasonable time to return to position.
Match 1 – Standing and kneeling, ten shots, unsupported except for slings.
Stage 1: Standing. Five minutes for five shots standing on the NRA 200 yard target. A hit in the 10 or X ring is 10 points, a hit in the 9 ring is 5 points, everything outside the black is a miss.
Stage 2: Kneeling. The kneeling shots will be taken on the same target as the standing shots. Five minutes for five shots kneeling on the NRA 200 yard target. A hit in the 10 or X ring is 10 points, a hit in the 9 ring is 5 points, everything outside the black is a miss.
Match 2 – Sitting and
prone, ten shots, unsupported except for slings.
Stage 1: Sitting. Five minutes for five shots sitting on the NRA 300 reduced to 200 yard target. A hit in the 10 or X ring is ten points, a hit in the 9 ring is five points, a hit in the 8 ring is zero, any hit in the white is minus 5 points.
Stage 2: Prone. The prone shots will be taken on the same target as the sitting shots. Five minutes for five shots prone on the NRA 300 yard reduced to 200 yard target. A hit in the 10 or X ring is ten points, a hit in the 9 ring is five points, a hit in the 8 ring is zero, any hit in the white is minus 5 points.
Match 3 – Symbols, ten shots prone, any support, ten minutes.
Ten minutes for ten shots at various symbols of different sizes, maximum one hit per individual symbol. The symbols have the following values: large circles are ten points, diamonds fifteen points, small circles twenty points. The individual competitor decides which symbols to shoot.
Match 4 – Prone, obscured targets, ten shots, sling or any rest.
Five minutes for two shots each prone at five partially obscured 50 yard smallbore bullseyes. A hit in the black obscured target is ten points, a hit on the white obscuring target is minus twenty points.
Match 5 – Prone; two targets at different distances, ten shots, ten minutes, any rest.
Five shots each target, one shot per symbol. A hit is 10 points. The targets may be shot in any order.
Closest target: five 1 1/2 inch diamonds.
Most distant target: five 2 inch circles.
Grand Total: Total of all matches.
Tie breaker shoot off: In the event of a tie for grand match winner
in either class a golf ball target will be set at an unknown distance and there
will be a shoot off using that target, one shot each competitor in turn until
all but one competitor is eliminated.
