Steel Bonus Match

4/16/11 After the XC Match


This is the next is a series of Steel Time and Accuracy Matches. These are shot after the normal across-the-course match and consist of short strings of fire done by one shooter at a time in turn on steel plates set at various distances. The score for each string is the time taken to complete the course plus the time added for each miss. A shooter may shoot the course as many times as he or she wishes.


Course of Fire: 6 rounds

  • Shooter will stage his/her rifle on the designated bench (simulating a vehicle hood) then sit in the designated chair

  • Range officer will call the start of the stage

  • Shooter will stand, move to rifle, and engage the right side vertical plate at 200 yards with two rounds from top of bench

  • Bolt open transition to upright simulating a tree

  • Shooter will kneel and use the strong shoulder to engage with one round each the plate at 110 yards and the plate at 150 yards

  • Bolt open transition to the other side of the tree

  • Shooter will kneel and use the weak shoulder to engage with one round each the plate at 110 yards and the plate at 150 yards


Penalties: 10 seconds for each miss


Rules:

  • During staging

    • Blind-magazine guns may be loaded when staged

    • Magazine gun shooter will carry the magazine with them at the start of the stage

  • Transitions

    • Bolt guns transition with bolt open

    • Gas guns transition with bolt open, magazine out

  • Any support may be used

    • If it starts attached to the rifle, it stays attached

    • If it is loose, the shooter must carry it from the start to the end of the stage

  • Ammunition

    • .30 caliber or less

    • No steel core or AP
