A Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for calculating Average
Group Radius (AGR)
Calculating the Average Group Radius by hand using a calculator
can take some time and be prone to errors. Here is a Microsoft Excel
spreadsheet that makes the calculations for you. You enter X and
Y coordinates from your 3, 5, 7 or 10 shot target and enter them into the
appropriate columns. The accompanying Microsoft Word document explains
how to measure the coordinates using a ruler or dial caliper and also how
to scan the targets into the Jasc Paint Shop Pro graphics program to so
you can quickly measure multiple targets and get better accuracy in your
measurements.
All this is to aid in developing better loads for match target shooting
whether it be in developing a load for High Power Rifle shooting as we
do with the San Jose Zouaves or other shooting sports.
